    Asim Abbasi

     

    Along with education, I have also given importance to extracurricular activities. It so happened that when I was in class 5th, I developed interest in Table Tennis because my cousins had Table Tennis rackets, Balls and a huge Dinning Table on which we used to play . By the passage of time, became the member of Y.M.C.A. Table Tennis Club which was managed by a very senior National coach.

    The detail of my significant achievements in this field is given below. But here I want to mention by major distinctions in this field.

    • I was the Captain of my school Table Tennis Team.
    • I was the Captain of Government College Lahore team for 2 years (during F.Sc.).
    • I was selected as the captain of Table Tennis Team of the Lahore Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education Lahore, Pakistan.

    MY TABLE TENNIS RACKET:-

    In the beginning, I was using the ordinary TT Racket of Butterfly which has sheets of rubber already attached. But when I joined Y.M.C.A., I used Butterfly Mazonov Wood and Friendship Sheet on one side and Butterfly Anti on the other side. There is very special reason behind for using this combination, those who know Table Tennis know it well.

    ABOUT MY FAMILY:-

    I have one kid. My wife has done MS in Molecular Genetics and she is a medical student becoming MD. My Father (late) was Director CSO (Commercial System Operation) in WAPDA (WATER & POWER DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY) Lahore, Pakistan. My Mother is a totally a house wife. I have one brother and one sister. My sister has one son and one daughter. My brother-in-law has done M.Com, M.I.S. and M.B.A. He is working in IBM USA. My brother has done B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering from University Of Engineering & Technology Lahore.
